I use a Gum Creek http://www.gumcreekcustoms.com/ mount also.

One thing - I am right-handed, and use a left-hand holster under the steering column. Some of the pictures in this thread show right-hand holsters - but that puts the gun in a more difficult position to draw if you are right handed.

One nice thing about the GC, it is a strap system, and you can almost any holster you want with it. You can fit almost any firearm.

the 18D who commented earlier has a good point. All of these mounting solutions should be immediately followed with drills, drills, drills and more drills. When you are done that, try some drills. When you have tested the best solution, find somewhere to live fire and ensure that you aren't going to shoot yourself.

Between the seat and console is the most "intuitive" being that it mirrors traditional 3 o'clock holster position. This also allows you to draw without flagging yourself or the other occupants.

One of the best classes I have ever taken in le was a class called tactical pistol. We practiced over and over drawing and shooting from our vehicle. It was awesome. My car was full of brass but boy it was cool.
