Best place for Rear Frame reinforcing plates?

    I have the TG frame plates but I think you could go with any company and they would work fine. There's even a seller on ebay that makes them.

    Since we are on the topic someone mention to me, the bend located where the cab section turns to the bed, should be reinforced to. That is where the frame becomes a "C" channel. Those with a heavy swingout bumper or a heavy rear have any kind of issues? I haven't heard or seen anyone with that issue unless it's rust related.

    I'm not sure I've seen too many (any?) people who have noticed severely bent frames from the extra weight of a swingout, but I can see it happening for sure.

    My thought is that if you're fabbing up a bumper and all that, you may as well reinforce the frame too. Literally can't hurt (unless you don't know how to weld, lol). A little extra work for a project like that will go a LONG way to keeping the truck in one piece over the long haul.


    Just keep the rust off your frame and you'll be fine!
