Your truck is built off top of the line products you bought. That's great if you have the coin to drop, I don't.

My truck is built off things I built wherever possible, not bought, and has been bashed, beaten and proven for the ten years and 170,000 miles I've owned it.

I spent money where it counted, on oem parts, and quality aftermarket. I don't throw in cheap shit where it counts.

I also have been a remodeling carpenter for 20 years and only buy dependable, quality, name brand tools, so I certainly understand the idea of quality, as well as supporting US vendors, which to reiterate as I tried to help your pompous ass earlier, would be where I'd go if I were spending the money.

Like I said, to each his own. You care about how shiny your snorkel is, good for you.

You can spout off about the foolishness of wasting money, but sounds more to me like you're grabbing your dick in an attempt to call me a fool and say you know that much more.

    I seriously doubt that.

By the way, gimme a fucking break, that ARB snorkel is a hunk of fucking plastic, not something I'm gonna stake my life on

So just to clear things up, you say you don't throw cheap things in where you say it counts.....but you buy a cheap snorkle to protect your engine from water getting in it and ruining it. And I never called you a fool dude you need to chill. I said it would be FOOLISH to buy a cheap snorkel and depend on it.

Also, as a mechanic I only buy quality tools just like you said....but I never said I " know more then you" I couldn't know less about carpentry. But as it stands right now I am a very well certified marine mechanic, dealer trained with extensive technical degrees. So why would I think I know more then you for stating my opinion on a product? Cmon dude. for that exact same reason I want a quality snorkle...to depend on it. Not sure why I have to keep saying?? Why do I buy Matco Tools??Because I buy the best tools to depend on them. I am willing to spend 400$ on a ARB snorkle, why? To depend on it!

Any more brain busters there chief ?

It's a piece of plastic with no moving parts. Fairly sure I like many others who run them have gotten to a point were confident they work fine. If they don't leak and they don't break, where's the technology?

I have an ARB locker, I trust their parts, I wouldn't put a cheap imitation in, just like I wouldn't buy some cheap welder, I trust my Miller, but that snorkel, you're paying for r&d, and even more so, you're paying for a name, period.

For a plastic tube made of the same material as a Rubbermaid garbage can or similar, the same as a scepter gas can. Maybe a little different composition, but really, I doubt it's off by much and if it is, it's the same fucking principle, it's tough formed plastic, and that's it.

The brain buster for me is the fact you think there's so much technology in a molded plastic tube.

You understand hydraulics I'm sure, well that's a pressurized system. This is fucking tube that goes to my air box, not exactly high tech pal, that if sealed properly, and it is, and is impervious to being damaged by normal off roading conditions, meaning if I were to damage a snorkel with what I did to it, the rest of the truck around it would be fucked too so at that point who gives a shit about my snorkel, my a pillar/door/fender/windshield would be damaged, then it'll suffice.

Holy Crap! Maestro was right! Snorkels do end friendships! Glad I haven't gotten mine yet. Time for me to go beat my air filter against the bumper again.

Can't understand why people get in arguments like this on the Internet. One guy likes the more expensive version of the snorkel and one guy likes the less expensive version of the snorkel. Go your separate ways and be happy :)
