Going to be doing a pretty extensive off-grid system on my tacoma and I'm running into a bit of an issue.

I'm not happy with the quality of parts I'm getting from autozone/ Amazon/ other big box stores.

What are some reputable sites to buy high quality electricical supplies?. I'm looking for basics. Multiple guages of wire, uninsulated ring terminals, heat shrink, anderson plugs..etc.

Also if anyone has any recommended reading material for best wiring practices (best types of wire to use, GXL vs SXL vs GPT, best crimping technique) practices, that would be awesome.

I pretty much buy my electrical goodies from McMaster-Carr unless it is something real special on the electronic end.

i can say I never received sub par parts then I have used them for 20 plus years.

It might help to know just what sort of project your getting into.

I have used Waytek Wire. Good quality 12volt stuff and good selection.

Then most times I was getting more then just electrical goodies as McMaster- Carr is a full line Industrial Supplier.

Just easier to get one order from one vendor then half a dozen places .

I have bought a few times from Waytek Wire as well

I have been using ACDC Supply via their eBay store for a couple years: https://www.ebay.com/str/AC-DC-WIRE-AND-SUPPLY

Excellent quality and very competitive pricing on hobby quantities. They also have some nice kits for specific applications that are cheaper than you can source by onesies, and they will custom terminate (e.g. for big 3 upgrade) for almost nothing.

Delcity is good. I’ve also gotten nice products from Greg’s marine wire supply

Just curious, what do they normally charge for shipping? I was looking at ordering the soft tube hose clamps for the cv boot mod.

It all depends just how far you are from the closest warehouse I will try and find invoices to see if I can find a per pound rate.

Then most of my orders are a few hundred $$ and maybe 20 to 30 pounds .

I use them because if I order before 1700 hrs it is here the next day.

Find your nearest sales office call and ask is the best way.

Waytek and mouser is who I use. Mainly like you can order everything you need and have the data sheets, etc. available.
