I vote BC too. I've been to quite a few places on this rock and BC has to be one of the nicest.

This is how I spend my summers. Rarely find me at a campground, but try to always be camping in my summer free time :)

Find some nice out of the way spot that I can get my truck to, ideally small enough that no one but those I bring can come, and relax for 2-7 days :)

Nope! Well I keep bear spray around and don't leave food outside, but I've been around a ton of black bears and they are very non aggressive from what I've seen.

They have, without fail, run from me when seen.

Don't leave food outside, don't get between a mom and her cub, and you're a-ok. Been camping in remote non-campground woods since a small kid, never had a bear issue.

Disclaimer: This may be different in grizzly or polar bear country, I'm only talking about black bears (brown bears, blonde bears, same bear)

NP. Don;t get me wrong, they can and will attack in the right circumstance, just good to be prepared. It isn't exactly unheard of.

On the whole though, I don't spend a lot of time worrying about it. Keep some spray, keep food out of the open, be alright.
