Where would be the best place to purchase a deckplate mod? I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 motor. From what i hear the deckplate mod is a good thing to do to my tacoma. Is this true? If so where is the best place to purchase this?

Its not your place to tell me what I need to sell or what i dont need to sell. Just because I dont want to make my truck look shity by putting a snorkel on it dont mean i need to sell my tires and lift. Thanks for the advice though.

I just looked around in the boat section till I found one. Do you know what a deck plate looks like?
You will also need a tube of rtv sensor safe silicon sealant.
    It's a pretty easy mod.
Where do you live at man ?
    I live in Harrisburg.

I live in Mt. Airy, NC. Yeah I have read that you just cut out a 4 inch hole in your airbox. Not exactly so sure what all I need to do to it to make it right. I just wanted to ask on here to make sure I dont mess anything up. Thanks for the help bro.

This may be a dumb question but is rtv gasket maker the same as sealant? Everything says gasket maker. Also, I know it needs to be sensor safe but was there a specific brand that you used or know of that was used that you can recommend? Doing this mod this weekend!:D

Here is a write-up that can be found in the Mods/tutorials section of this beautiful website :) It's for the 3.4l. Im not sure if the 2.7 has the same airbox.

It is debated as to how well this mod works for the 2.7l engines. A definite increase is found on the 3.4's.

Poppintool, that should work, just got to male sure it's sensor safe. Don't know the brand I used, sorry.

Who ever doubts this, it does work on the 4 cyl, chris4x4, put it on a Dino test, and got close to 5 hp, in the upper RPMs.

Deck plate w/baffle, grey wire mod, defroster switch mod, LED footlights, LED cap lights, magnetic theft deterent...
    2001 Tacoma 3.4L
I did the deck plate mod today. It looked like rain/water or small road debris could get into the deck plate hole. I would hate to have a stone penetrate the air filter or water soak it.
I made a baffle out of sheet metal and attached it to two through bolts I used for the deck plate. The baffle is midway between the deck plate and air filter, attached on one side so the airflow should be unrestricted. This will deflect any debris and rain/water from hitting the air filter directly.

    What do you guys think?
