Without getting projector headlights to replace the reflector headlights we have, you're pretty much limited to getting a nicer incandescent bulb (keep in mind: if you get something twice as bright, it'll last half as long). Do not switch to LED or HID on reflectors. They're plug n play but they WILL blind everyone on the road.

Look at the output charts in this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-h4-not-led-or-hid.398066/

    3 options:
    1) IPF fatboys 80w low beam, stock high beam, max low beam output no harness needed.
    2) Philips Racing Vision +150, best stock wattage low beam w/ reduced performance high beam due to blue coating over the high beam filament.
    3) GE Xenon +120, best stock wattage low beam performance without reducing the high beam, but low beam will not perform as well as the others listed above.

All data is in the output charts in the linked thread.

Weathertech floor mats, Bilstein 5100s front/rear, TSB leaf springs, Pioneer head unit, Mini D2S headlight retrofit.
A projector retrofit is probably not as hard as you think. Maybe 10 hours of work and $350-400 will get you a very fine performing setup. That amount includes new housings if you need or want.

If you don't have fog lights, they help a lot. Depending on if your truck is pre-wired it may be "plug and play"
