I wonder if we’ll ever be able to buy the pro grilles again (2018 versions)

I bought a chinese grille first, but had to buy again oem because the Chinese grille I had did not accept the garnish without modifications, so I had a chance to compare side by side. The oem one is definitely better quality.

    - oem is slightly heavier, prob from thicker plastics.
    - better constructed with no seams, there are some odd seams on the chinese one.
    - better finish, no burls or other blemishes.
    - oem has more of a satin finish, wile chinese is more flat black, which I actually would’ve preferred because it matches with the OR fender flares better.

Overall, the Chinese one is good enough for the job for sure, it’s def sturdy and I would’ve kept it if it accepted the garnish. But not the same quality. I’d say they are each worth their respective price.

Gunny told me we can't buy the 2018's anymore... 3 days ago. Man I hope there is another way to get the OEM.

It’s actually 2 separate parts. The grille. And the garnish. What did he say that you can’t buy?

Because the grille is the same across all years, just the garnish is new.

As said above you can just get a 17 Pro Grille but you will need the 18 Garnish.

I got mine delivered in about a week. Cost $111. A few tabs were broke so I mentioned it and the seller refunded my money and told me to keep the grille. Free works for me!

Oh I thought the '18 grille had some plastic on it and was slightly different. Also I heard the '17 is more expensive. He told me only the grille he can't get. But I thought I read its hard to get the garnish too? If I can do this easily without NEEDING the '18... I'm game!

Correct, the only difference is the plastic Garnish piece.

16-17 OEM grille does not have the opening for the garnish. You can't use it on an 18 with TSS-P. Not to mention it is a lot more expensive. This is what the 18 grille looks like out of the box without the sensor. SensorOpening.jpg

I have a 17 Pro Grille, it does have that same exact opening, just a different style Garnish that closely matches the Grille making it blend in.

So, will the 18 grill fit a 17? Does the garnish that goes with the 18 grill blend with the grill?

Yeah the 18 grill will fit a 17, but you can't get an 18 without having a 2018 TRD Pro.

I wonder why there is such a big price difference between the 18 grill and the 17. I would rather buy the 18 cause it is so much cheaper than the 17.

You can put the 18 Grille on the 17 but would have to source a garnish piece either 17 or 18 style.
