Even with the garnish piece its still about $200 cheaper than the 2017 grill.

Here is a pic of my 17 Pro Grille, if you look closely you will see the plastic garnish piece is removeable and you can install the TSS Sensor and other style garnish piece to use in a 2018.

I can't find a part number for the 16-17 Pro Grille garnish. Any idea if it's available separately to use with the 18 version?

I am not sure if Toyota sells it separately as it came together, I have seen a few pop up in the market place before when guys were using the Grille in the 18s and didn't need that part.

So as I understand it, all of us 18's are out of luck as of now in regards to getting trd pro grill? Can't get OEM without owning a TRD Pro and the chinese knock offs arent making any for the 18's, correct? My local dealer just sent me an email asking for the VIN of the truck and asking for a reason of purchase; now trying to order from out of state just to see. Knew I shouldve ordered it a month ago :(

The knock offs I have seen have a spot for the sensor, you just have to get the 18’ grill garnish which is only sold OEM right now...

Interesting. The one I saw at the dealer a few weeks ago was solid for the PT228-35170 and the PT228-35180 was open for the sensor and garnish. I wonder if they changed.

I got mine from McGregor Toyota in MD for $176. Thankfully I got it like a week before Toyota started requiring VINs.

Why don't guys with Pros just start buying grills for their local non-pro owners and make $20 a pop for the processing, if they want? I wonder if Toyota will limit them from buying multiples.

I just got my OEM 18 grill in the mail yesterday ordered it about 2 weeks ago with a VIN. You might want to “buy” a Pro and “crash” it. They have a lot of Pros with VIN #s on CarGurus.com cough cough

I ordered and paid for mine from Toyota of Dallas last week for $241 with the garnish. Order form didn't require a VIN. I checked the site today and it looks like they took down the 2018 grill and garnish from the site. Since my item is on backorder, I hope they don't cancel my order or ask me for a VIN number.

I bought one through Toyota of Dallas yesterday and the order went through. And as you state the part numbers for the grill and garnish are gone today. I received an email stating that my order had been "paid". I hope this means it is coming... It did not ask me for a VIN.

    I'm curious as well.

I'd think they should be able to tell quickly whether its in dealer stock or sold to a customer with a quick VIN search of their own. But I don't really know how the system works.

I just spoke to my dealership and they said they would need a photo of the VIN, photo of the crashed truck, as well as the body shop it is at lol

man this sucks for us '18 guys. This was the first mod I wanted to do and I'm not paying 16-17 year model prices for the grille.

Yeah apparently the prices are going to go up once the grill isn't on backorder and they start selling to non pro owners.
