    Also, the VIN # that you sent was it from a TRD Pro that was being sold via a private party or as a certified pre-owned?

    Just keep placing orders at different dealers until someone ships it that's what I did. I placed about 4 orders before I got one.

    Darn, and I'm local to TRDParts4You.

    I ordered one last night from ToyotaPartsDeal.com and this morning got the request for VIN and mileage. I responded with "Not available, it's a gift for an enthusiast. If you don't want to sell to a paying customer, just refund my money."

    It's not the dealers creating this requirement it's Toyota. You should have replied with a mileage and VIN...

    I understand that. I just have a bit of angst over buying one under false pretenses. While my response is cryptic, it's true: I'm buying a gift for my enthusiast self, and the VIN is unavailable. Are you suggesting that the dealers really don't care where your VIN comes from, that they just have to fill a blank on an order form? I suppose I could have answered their question literally with a VIN and mileage, not claiming that they were mine.
