I have been getting parts from Lewis Toyota in Topeka via there online parts sales and been super happy with price and service. Was quoted $33 ea for OEM spark plugs from my dealership in town, paid $12.88 ea from Lewis plus $10 for shipping.

Akebono pads are the best you can buy, and are only $49 from RockAuto. Part # is ASP976. And they have Brembro rotors for $48 a piece...09B46111.

There's absolutely no reason to buy OEM.

Best you can buy is misleading a bit although I'm sure they're solid. For example Alcon Brakes have amazing stopping power, but at $2,400 just for the fronts it's not going to interest most buyers.

I usually find that OEMPARTSOURCE.COM has the best oem part prices (and they're close to me so shipping is low).

Street equipment vs. full on race gear...apples and oranges. But you knew that already.

Right but saying something is the best without stipulations vs saying it's a high quality alternative option to oem is a more accurate depiction.

I bought some bosch quietcast pads about 55k miles ago, theyre down to 3mil and ready to replace. Doing that next week, got a pair of their rotors to go with just to do it since I have 103k on the originals. Still in good condition but 10 years old plus the mileage, eh. Those are 50$ on Amazon, 99$ at oriellies if you feel like dropping another 100$ for no good reason.

I bought a full set of brakes for my 4runner (rotors, pads, calipers) from r1 concepts back in February. Prices are very reasonable, I went with them for 2 reasons.

    1. They had new calipers, not reman and there was no dealing with trying to send cores back in the mail.

    2. They had rotors with a corrosion resistant coating I believe they call it geomet. Living in upstate NY it always pissed me off how fast rotors would get surface rust on the non-braking surface and look like ass. I've had these on for 4 months including some salted roads and they still look great.

EBC drilled and slotted rotors with the oem ceramic pads worked fantastic in my 2001 tundra after the oem solid rotors warped twice, plus excessive pad wear. I never encountered any rust on the ebc rotors either. Only issue the ebc rotors aren't cheap. You get what you pay for.

I wouldn't spend the money on OE rotors. They are just simple steel discs. Not exactly proprietary formulas. I would stick with OE pads. Less squeal and dust.

Exotic pads and rotors are not going to stop you any quicker. They are better at stopping brake fade with intense use. Meaning if you are on your brakes hard frequently from high speeds that generate a lot of heat. For normal everyday use you will never see the benefits.

Correction, PFC pads are the best you can buy.

So far they've been great, quiet consistent stops. I got their ceramic pads and there seems to be very little dust.
