I got some meguiars scratch X onto my black tailgate handle the other day. It will not come off. It just kind of smeared and gave the black handle a cloudy/dirty look. What is a product I can use to restore/clean my handle?

you can use some degrease first to get it off and follow up with lots of silicon/tire shine or mothers back to black and you should be ok

Any general soap should work. I would use a spray bottle with warm water and 1 drop of dish soup. Then use an old tooth brush to scrub the wax that is on the handle. Rinse with warm water and dry.

The soap nor the tooth brush will damage the paint or the plastic.

The reason the wax is there is because the plastic is textured and a cloth will not get into the tiny pores on the surface.

If the areas are small a pink eraser like the kids use in school will remove it. Just lightly rub like you are trying to erase pencil marks.

You have to be careful with Magic Erasers. When they get wet they actually become abrasive.

I wouldn't recommend using magic erasers on any automotive surfaces.
