Nice! And you're right. I need to really discipline myself in that area. A couple months ago, I tried eating 3-5 hamburger patties a day for snacks in between normal meals. That got pretty expensive though...

hard to beat anything by optimum nutrition. recently been trying dymatize products bc of their cheap prices. and happy with them but other than those 2 companies. BSN's syntha 6 is good unlike the rest of BSN's line.

haha, i hear that. i'll have a shake right when i get up (i mean before i get in the shower, eat, anything), shower etc, then eat a big bfast. then ill usually have a decent lunch, go to the gym after class, shake right after workout (while im in the shower at the gym), come home and eat dinner, and then eat again before bed (sometimes with a casein shake).

casein is a life saver. and if you're not keen on buying casein protein just slam some cottage cheese before bed..

it works...im telling you, if you can stomach the shake in the AM, definitely get on that. the insulin spike gets your body to absorb that big breakfast right away, and its good to get in your system before you start burning more cals by being awake (especially if youre trying to gain weight)

Thanks for the advice! I usually have my AM shake after breakfast, I'll definately try it before now.

no need to be like that.
hey MM 100% whey protien works just fine for what I am doing. I have met and exceeded my goals.

I am ripped, shredded and pleased with what I do and what I use, just as I am sure you are.

I'm sure you found a product that suits your workout and needs and that is great, but this isn't a, "YOu have or know better" discussion.

    Let's be cool.

i just got gold standard 100% whey (cookies and cream flavor) and i have heard lots of thigns about it, i just started using it though! i also just got creatine its kre-akalyn or something like that and its the pills and decently cheap i have heard lots of good things about that.

if you want pre workout energy... the most intense shit is noxipro. i took a tony scoop yesterday and i went into the gym and felt like i drank 100 redbulls but without the stomach hurting and queezing. i was lifting for like 2 hours and i wasnt even tired. but try to take it like 5 hours before you go to sleep because you WILL have trouble sleeping if you dont..

you absolutely cannot go wrong with Optimum Nutritions proteins. but if you don't mind giving up just a little bit in the taste department and want something a little healthier, try their "natural" line of protein powders. jay robb also makes an excellent protein that strives to use only non-growth hormone given cattle's whey, but it's costly............

i wouldnt suggest eating hamby patties but grab a chicken breast or eggs with some cheese every few hours. also try eating some cottage cheese before u go to bed because it digests slower than other proteins

Granola grinded up in a protein shake before bed will slow the protein down and last till morning. Multiple people that really know their shit have advised me to do this. Just an idea.

Isopure. No carbs or sugar, and a great taste. Mixes well too.

wouldn't recommend carb mixing w/ protein prior to bed ala adding a granola bar( for what reason do you need carbs/energy prior to sleep?) ....though i do understand the idea. as stated prior, cottage cheese or casein protein before bed are considered ideal. hope this helps....

The reason is that night time is the longest fast our body goes through. It still is repairing and building though while we sleep. The concept is to provide enough protein, carbs, and other nutrients to continue repairing and building till morning.

i digress pingo. true, breakfast is the generally the longest duration an average person goes without substenance---hence the term "breakfast" as in to break the fast occuring during sleep--but again, one can question the wisdom of ingesting carbs--the body's preferred energy source--prior to bed.

Even while you're sleeping your body needs energy to repair tissue and build muscles... Like I said I'm not an expert on the subject, just what people that make a living off training and lifting have advised me to do. Obviously you don't want to carb load before bed but some granola in a protein shake and a banana or a little yogurt is what has been recommended to me.
