I think the Tundra is comparable to the domestics in almost every way, it just hasn't been out as long to get a chance. It's also way cheaper.

Wow, when I did some looking at the Tundra they were in the very high 30's to low 40 grand range. I don't think pricewise they compared.
Even before the Toyota woes all the other manufacturers were offering incentives, rebates, lower interest rates than Toyota. This alone put them miles ahead of the Tundra. Toyota was inflexibile in pricing and didn't particualrly want to talk. Had I really wanted a larger truck I wouldn't have considered Toyota for these reasons along with the one you quoted about there not being out as long.
In their effort to gain large truck status they have built a monster sized truck. I hope their gamble works but suspect brand loyalties will still hold many back until they begin to act more respectful to the consumers.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the Tacoma's once Ford does away with the Ranger comes out with a newer mid size.
    Just my thoughts. K

I drove an 04 F150 to 189k with no problems. Got my 08 Silverado in April of 08 and it has 101k on it now. Zero problems with it thus far, but I feel that the Ford was built better. Nicer interior, less rattles, etc.

Yeah, but that site has got to be a little biased, right? I got the new 4 wheeler mag, and in their comparison it was a well fought battle on everybody's part. IMO, you really can't go wrong with any of the new full sizes, just personal preference.

Toyota dose score higher overall, but not in the full size truck realm.

    That was then.
I wonder how they would score today? When Toyota first came out with the full size Tundra it was touted as the second coming. I think it came and went.
I like my Taco but it's not the best out of the box 4x4. This web site does a pretty good job of proving this. Even somethng so simple as going to a larger tire size requires modifications to the truck. It comprimises between fuel savings, comfort, and utility. Oh, and it does have the best looks.

I don't think there's a dime's worth of difference between GM, Ford and Chevy in this area. I've owned all 3 and none of them really stood out as being better or worse than the others. They all make good trucks and here's why. Truck people are a lot more demanding than car people. Traditionally, trucks have been used for work and consumers won't tolerate a tool that doesn't get the job done. A guy that depends on his truck for his living will not put up with a piece of junk. Therefore, the Detroit auto makers have always known they can't afford to cut corners on quality if they want to sell trucks.

As for the Tundra, I have no experience. I've never even ridden in one. It's a Toyota so I assume it's a good quality product based on my experience with other Toyota products but that's just an assumption.

Dodge if your getting a diesel. Otherwise ford all the way but they both suck as far as longevity.
