I installed a double-din Kenwood, and am very disappointed. It has lots of nice features (GPS navigator, BT, reverse-camera-ready, USB input, micro-SD input, etc), but the user interface is terrible, I can't see the screen in daylight, and the micro-SD port usually fails. I will never get another Kenwood.

The thing about touchscreen radios in general when installed in 1st gens is that there isn't any good bank angle. Of course the truck wasn't made to accommodate touchscreen radios back then, so the radio trim didn't have any tilt in mind. I can't really see mine either when the sun is glaring, but I can still make out all the options. Works great at night.

Still has a better clock than the factory one, though.

I'm going to pick up the same CB radio that you have, could you explain how you installed it, and where you mounted the antenna?

I really wish I could but it was already with the truck when I bought it less than a year ago. No CB radio power, mic or antenna.. I took a quick look at it when I pulled the dash apart for the radio but didn't pay too much attention to how it was installed. I might try and get it running this weekend and if so will take some pictures and give you the run down on what I see.

My bad, haha. It was rated for 120v so I didn't think much about it. I think I'm going to re-run the camera power lines to the fusebox instead so I can turn on the camera whenever I want.
What's the proper way to splice it? Those crimp on butt connectors? I might solder it on the backup light side since the wires on the tail-light are so short. If I remove the wire-nut there won't be anymore room for a new splice.

You mean bluetooth phone capabilities? My Kenwood double din has bluetooth capabilities, but the microphone is wired. I attached it in the nook for the parking brake.

That would be unnecessary if you refering to a bluetooth type ear bud/mic. You wouldnt send it from phone to radio then back to you.
If your wanting a mic for the radio that is wireless/bluetooth. You still have to power it some way.

I have a very similar Pioneer AVH-280BT with DVD parking brake bypass and remote mounted double USB connection.
It bolts right in using factory brackets. I used a harness adapter almost completly plug and play. Absolutly love it.

P1011396.jpg P1011382.jpg One is 2.1 amp charge only the other is 1.2 amp charge and input for stereo. Had to do a little filing on filler panel to fit USB socket. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FWFBNSU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    No backup camera yet.

Kenwood DDX320BT. It has been great for me for over a year now. Bluetooth, handsfree, easy to use. Hooked up my mic right above the parking break for handsfree calling. Great for manual tacos

I like that. Nice job. I did something similar with this.

I just replaced one of the many cigarette lighter outlets. Makes for an easy way to jam music and charge your phone at the same time.

Nice thing about the double usb is being to leave a 32 gig flash drive with 1000+ songs on it plugged in and charge phone off other outlet.
