Did alot of research and ended up going with N2. Easy install and works without any issues after 1 month.

I have the 12v solutions and even though install was simple the service in my opinion not reliable. They do not return emails once they have your $.

Viper 5906v. It has a 1 mile range and I can perform the takeover seamlessly. The door does not kill the engine. Touching the brake before inserting the key and turn it to the on position, kills the engine.

I have a Viper and I also had one on my last vehicle. Works well and the new fob is usb rechargeable so no need to change out cr2032 batteries every year which is nice.

For remote starts that work using the factory fob, do they provide two-way confirmation? I like the idea of not having to carry around two fobs, but that’s not a feature I could live without where I live.

For vehicles with push button starts opening the door does in fact kill the engine as a security feature

FYI 2020 added some new stuff with the SOS stuff and all that, I talked to N2 designs they haven't released it for 2020 yet (Push start, at least). 19 and earlier you're good.

We're almost there..yes that SOS crap is a nightmare and so is the one wire that needs to be snipped behind the glove box because of it. It works, but not releasing it till we can make it easier. We've tracked down two more "simpler" spots to intercept that one wire and that's what we're working on testing simultaneously on two different 2020's...we are so close.

From what I can tell, they're all using the same hardware, firmware, and connections. When I looked at the 12v, N2, Start-X, and MPC, they all seem to have the same circuit board box & connectors, so I purchased the least expensive one I could find (the MPC). @N2DesignsInc can chime in if this is incorrect and if different models have different/better features.

I used the Taco Twonz installation video on YouTube because the included MPC instructions left something to be desired. The TacoTwonz video helped me quickly disassemble the dash pieces and find the correct connectors. Then it was just a matter of following the MPC programming instructions.

They mostly all use the same board. Pay a few bucks more for support in the unlikely event you need it and support a vendor. It's win win.

    Edit. Talking about using N2

I just put a iDatastart HC1 in my SR5. I was going to just get the HCX which is about $30 cheaper but this "1" includes (2) remotes so I have something in mind in the future for those. I also purchased the T-harness from BestBuy (DS-THR-TL5 $30) and with that I only had to splice into (4) wires for the entire install. Best thing about the HCX or HC1 is that the OEM Key fob (I don't have a pushbutton so my fob is part of my H-Key) can perform the auto start with 3-presses of the lock button. The instructions where clear enough for me to map out and the T-harness made it easy. I just need to review the settings this week and see what (if any) I want to tweak. If anyone has any questions on this items install feel free to PM me...happy to help if I can.

Sounds like a summer project! Probably won't make sense before this winter is up for me. :(

I wouldn't install a remote start without a long range fob or cell app. The oem fob range is terrible (at least for H-key).
I have the N2 Designs with smartphone app and it has been nice to leave work and my truck warm when I get out to the parking lot.
