How do they have any data on 2019 models for 36 and 60 month of ownership?

There are no winners when it comes to resale of a vehicle. Only losers and bigger losers

Their resale percentages are projections. I'm sure those projections are based on previous years resale and esoteric formulations and algorithms (i.e. wild ass guesses sprinkled with a little bit of experience).

I meant customers. I guess a few super rare makes/models or concept vehicles if you were lucky enough to be able to purchase you could be “winning”. But any average production vehicle you’re not “winning”, it’s losing value by the day/mile

    Rims for now.
These are all marginal and mythical estimated numbers. Which means made up. Your only going to get what your vehicle is worth at that moment to that dealership, person, or company based on what the market is doing at that time for your specs and conditions so yup... made up. The only thing set in stone is the fact that one day we will all be dead.. not sure exactly when but one day...

You loose on all vehicles when you sell that soon. The main reason you loose on the Tacoma is because of the sales tax in most states, it'll set you back $2500-4000. That's hard to beat, but people who have made money on these trucks have made it many years later.

But the way the Ridgline is selling (slow), it might become an instant classic or rare commodity once they decide to stop the bleeding lol!

On leased trucks you don’t pay the full sales tax do you ?

Also if you register in MT, we then don’t pay sales tax :D

You can try selling on your own and you might make out better, but you're still in the hole because you paid the dealer's rent, financing charge (his) and he still made a profit to get a hamburger.
You can't get around and beat the dealer at his game anymore than you can beat the house at the casino.

Why can I never read a “feel good” story about the Tacoma without also having to read about the Ridgeline. It’s always lurking somewhere on the list.
