So wait, are they bouncy or do they ride rough? Those are generally two opposite ends of the spectrum.

How many miles are on them? You say you bought them new, but how long have you had them? These shocks need periodic maintenance (rebuilds).

Are you sure you're not just setting your expectations too high for what you think it's supposed to ride like? It's a truck. Even with my Kings, it still rides "like a truck" - It's a vast improvement over stock or bilstein 5100s, but it's still a truck. Always will be.

So either there's something wrong with your shocks and they need to be rebuilt/repaired, or there's something wrong with your expectations for how it's supposed to ride.

It's been stated 3 times in this thread but the OP completely ignored it; at 3" he has too much preload.

I just going to assume that you're not trolling, so here it goes. Any setup with that much lift is going to ride like crap. The coils are cranked up too tight. Try lowering the lift down to 2 inches & see how that feels.

While excessive preload makes it stiff, he said he didn't touch them ("bought them new untouched, completely stock").

The only way to get Kings to have excessively high preload is to crank it up way past the factory setting, or maybe he got coilovers with 700# springs?

King ex travel, JBA UCA’s, All Pro Springs/shackles, Locked, all new poly bushings & rack, SS brake & clutch lines, ext bumps for starters.
^This^ I have Kings set at the factory settings and didn’t touch them and with 10ply tires rides plush.
