I like the way that looks, actually. Looks good on your truck, too. How does it mount? It looks like that rack would have less wind noise because it is pretty open? Have you found that to be the case?

Happy to add you to the list! And good luck on your small business. I know it is hard!

When I get the time I want to provide an overall assessment for each of the racks. No ranking. No "this rack is better than that rack" kind of thing. How could I really say unless I owned each of the racks and tested them over time? But I would like to present a few key data points for people to consider, such as price point, how they mount, stuff like that.

please add height from the roof as a comparison point. this is key information for people with campers that go over the cab roof.
Also if you can break out access cab vs double cab options that's helpful too!

Is Rhino the only company who makes a track system for the roof ditch?

I'm pretty happy with the FR tray and Yakima HD bars. I used FR legs and Rhino gutter plates to attach it.
    20210225_120631.jpg
But now the paint is flaking off. It started to bubble up a little on its own, and now the touchless car wash blows off chunks. Unhappy.

I am pulling together a comprehensive list of roof rack options and my personal observations ... as I do research on what roof rack I want to buy.

From what I can tell, and I am no expert, there is also Eezi Awn as well as Thule and Yakima -- which say they have "ears" that use the rain gutters. Hope that helps.

If you tell me more about what you are looking for I can try to help provide some background. I have a long list of racks I am looking into:

Yakima has a track for the roof gutter...but it's only available in Australia. I would assume that it will make it's way to USA eventually, just like the LockNLoad platform.

In a week or so I will be putting a Yakima platform on my truck and I will make some posts about it since not too many people have them.

I agree. But to be fair to Prinsu, they do have discounts that close that gap from time to time. That said the Martin Rack does have its appeal. Another one to check out on the list is the offering from Sherpa. Watch the video -- they have a very unique mounting process.

So many good racks to choose from !

i have it on my truck, so i can pop the racks off quickly. install wasnt too bad, got nervous once i had to start drilling. used marine adhesive/sealant on the holes. no leaks.
rhino rack says 220 minus weight of thr rack for dynamic load.

Great thread! I myself was looking for roof rack options and I had a prinsu and I liked the look and the functionality but I have a Yakima skybox and basket and it was a pain to put them in my opinion. Now I’m leaning towards a oem roof rack because it fits more to our needs for camping. I only off road with friends every once I a while so I don’t need a prinsu to put tracks or boxes on top don’t get me wrong looks cool

The Victory and Cali look like they have just a little more space between the roof and rails than say the UpTop and Prinsu, anyone know if either could accommodate a top box like a Yakima or Thule with how the grabbers go under the bars?

take a look at the rhino rack tracks. super clean install and will do exactly what you want. then you also take it completely off and have a naked roof again.

Listing the mounting method as one of the critera is important. Also; the ease of removal when the rack is not in use should be noted as some do not want a rack that essentially becomes a permanent fixture on the vehicle.

I have not seen any rack offering a secure mount to the vehicle, but then add a quick release feature to enable a fairly quick removal. - it would be fine if some discreet mounting brackets / hardware were permanenttly attached and stayed on the truck... For me, being able to remove the rack would be a great feature.

I am no where near done ... I have a bunch of racks to go through yet. These are just my notes as I do my own research. I haven't edited but this is the info that I have collected. Look at column J and K.

This is just my data collection. I will clean it up but I am going in alphabetical order and am not there yet! :).

Based on our needs, and this is all I have so far (!), you are looking at Thule or Yakima or EEZI-AWN or Rhino. Probably Rhino would be best. They have something that fits into the door channel and then you could remove the basket when not in use. Not exactly a quick removal but not terrible either:
