I actually need to carry kayaks or canoe...I have Thule cross bars and Thule kayak bars that attached to my Tahoe factory roof rack. It'd be great if I could get an OEM and just use the bars like I do on my Tahoe.

Keep in mind with baskets, you might have a hard time fitting it parking garages. I have an 09 with about 1" lift with a Yakima roof rack/basket and I cannot clear parking garages lower that 6'9" which is almost all of them here in Miami. Just thought I'd throw that out there. The set up I have does sit a little high since it utilizes the Yakima cross bars.

I avoid parking garages at all costs, I can’t even fit it in my garage at home. Last time I had to damn near deflate my tires.

Hahah I feel ya man. I mainly park in the garage at university cause thats pretty much all we got there in the parts of the campus that I go to. Luckily its 7' so I clear it pretty well. As for my garage, I have a gym and pool table so the truck stays outside.

This is a great thread. Looking for racks too. Like the prinsu but don't want to have to drill holes in my cab!
I have an '05 access cab.

is there one in the same style that doesn't require drilling??

Call me old-fashioned, but I've been more than happy with my clip on Yakima Craigslist find. ($125 got me towers, locking cores, crossbars and kayak saddle). Once I had those parts, I went on ebay and found clips that fit my truck. It's easy on/easy off, so I pretty much just leave it on during the summer and then take it off in the winter. I don't have a wind fairing, but have found that a simple bungee cord wrapped around the forward bar eliminates all wind noise.

I was considering the OEM rack, but in some of my research was finding that some people were having issues with the install resulting in a less-than OEM appearance. (Maybe those people were just inept with tools and/or reading directions?) Anyhow...

In the end, I love the flexibility that the Yakima (or Thule) systems provide. Boats, bikes, lumber, luggage boxes...you name it.

No photos at the moment, but I'm looking to put it back on for the summer in the next week or two. If I remember, I'll snap some and get them up.

So odd question but why is the Prinsu rack so much cheaper than some of the other custom racks, frontrunner, warrior, baja rack etc. Everything i've read on here says they are one of the best racks you can buy...

Double cab 2014 Taco here, looking for a roof rack but every link in this thread is dead. Anyone have a working link to a decent rack? Looking for ability to carry a canoe/kayaks and/or gear.

    Thanks!

Pricey but worth it from what I've been reading. I have to see how much my local dealer would charge to install. I thought abouy doing it myself, but if there are any leaks or issies with the install, I want someone else to be liable lol

Self install maybe takes about 2 hours tops. Not worth paying someone. Seriously. Just pull your weather stripping, open the holes, and build your rack. If you can handle the minuscule weight of it then you’re good if you can’t get a helper. Line up where it goes (put a towel down so you don’t scratch your truck) put a good glob of silicone ( I did mine in the shape of Hershey kisses because every video I saw was the same way) put the spacers on then bolt the rack to the truck. Fine tune it once it’s bolted down and done.
