shame on roam for treating you like that. Thanks for sharing, they will never get my business, sad to see a company not stand behind their products and service. Looks like a crappy packing job on their end and not surprising to see shipping damage when the carelessly year throw it in a box like that with no padding or protection. Makes me mad for you the way they spoke to you like you’re an idiot, what a bunch of ass clowns. You handled it with far more civility then I would have been able to. Their half ass attempts at damage control after the fact is a joke, screw those guys!

Its been just over a week since my last email contact with them. My first move was to advise other tw members, since, well, this place is the only reason I got into all this, and why not let my experience benefit other tw members.

My second move was suggested by another member here, and that was to post reviews on their social media pages; all in line with my review here. It was the review on their own internet site that caught their attention.

The customer experience manager called me yesterday and he seemed to feel my frustration. He initially offered options such as additional money back (asked me what I thought was fair) and even sending a new tent, but that carries the risk of that one showing up damaged too, and me taking this one off my truck and boxing it up.

My ultimate suggestion was to give them back the initial 100 dollar refund; have them keep whatever refund they are willing to add, and either use that towards a new tent shell that I can have as a spare, in case the tear does in fact expand down the road.

He seemed to suggest that is a possibility and that he would check the warehouse for a spare shell in my color; or put one on order for me. I haven't heard back from him since my initial call yesterday but I am hopeful they will make it right.

It was a frustrating run via emails, but I think talking it over on the phone really helped the situation. More to come.

Good to hear they are trying to make things right but you shouldn’t have needed to go through so many hoops just to get their attention. You are a patient man.

So Roam got back to me with a phone call 3/23 and confirmed they would be sending me a replacement tent shell and a replacement bolt cap. He said he would at the warehouse to see what they have that cant be sold for one reason or another, but with a pristine tent shell that he can pull off and send to me. If one isn’t available, he would put an order into production, but it would take some time since its manufactured in China; which I completely understand. He also said he send me an email would describe this resolution.

Ive been hesitant to post any updates without that in writing; I received that confirmation email this morning.

I had a chance to spend the night in it. My winterbag kept me nice and warm, and the mattress certainly is comfortable; and much more convenient that dealing with the air pad I use for ground camping. I had the skylights flaps open (rain fly has built in eisenglass so you are still protected from rain) and had absolutely no condensation in the tent; those really help vent fresh air in.

All things considered, I am much happier now and am looking forward to many trips with this thing.

Roof top tents are for people afraid of getting eaten by bears. Just get a Kodak tent. They go up in 5 minutes plus you can stand up in them

No. Most people didn't buy their choice of tent based on bears. And most RTT's also go up in 5 min or less.

Update. Received a package from Roam today. They came through for me. Couldn’t be happier.
