    Wow!
New guy here and I'm completely overwhelmed by the myriad of options of adding step rails to my truck. I've done a slight raise by doing a plus one on new tires and upgrading to 2021 TRD front struts. In particular the 2021 front struts raised my front 2+ inches. To level her off, I added 2" Aluminum blocks between the axel & leafs.
I'm very pleased with how the truck sits and want to add some quality running boards/step rails. My research is telling me beware of basic steel step rails because most are hardly lower than the truck step and/or are small and difficult for larger feet. I'm not looking for rock rails but just a simple step up. Some models are actually too wide or high and actually interfere with getting up into the truck? Rust is also a concern as I live on Long Island and will be constantly exposed to salt air (water) and road salt in the winter months..
I don't mind spending the extra dough on aluminum but which model would check off the most boxes??
    what ya got??
    thanks, in advance
    Jimmy

I know it's hard to see but these came with the truck. They are worthless as far as helping to get in said truck. I would buy sliders if I were you. If it's 2wd and your vertically challenged, get a set up with step up.

    Yes,
They are much more practical for cab entry but I would prefer a full length step up because I often have kayaks, sups, surfboards etc that I would like to be able to reach forward & rear from both sides
I should have mentioned, the roof rack sees a lot of action in spring, summer and fall
    Thanks for input

OP - are you wanting the flatter running boards or the step tubes?

I've been very happy with the OEM Running Boards. Helpful with strapping down my canoe or kayak.

One of my first additions after buying a 2015 double cab about four years ago was Tyger Step running boards from Amazon for $139. Simple. clean look. Have never regretted purchase.

Do they make those for long beds so it extends pass the door?

OEM wont extend past the door. I'm not familiar with other brands of similar style/design.

There's no reason for steps to be designed extending past the doors. They are only steps to aid with getting in the truck. I can see the load strength being compromised at the ends if did for LBs. Zero degree sliders would be the best option if you are looking for true side protection along with being steps.

3rd generation will fit your truck. Check out the predator or the shark style running boards
