I have a large hound and leather seats in my taco. What are some good seat covers?

I put a beach towel on the passenger seat and trained my dog to stay.

Tried that my dog is not fond of staying in one seat lol tbh m dog is less of the issue, my tools and me getting in and out of my truck 15x a day is Prbly more why my seat tore

Dogs well pets of any sort shouldn’t be in the front seat and should be in a harness that buckles into the seat belt clip. I’ve seen a crash with a pet into the windshield it’s not pretty.

I keep her in the back 99% of the time she just jumps up front when I’m parked. Actually have been looking at the clip for her harness

We use the Wet Okole Seat covers. It helps prevent liquids from going through the cover. Otherwise taking the fur out can be more challenging than a smoother surface. Also removing the seat covers can be a pain.

That's why I like the washable waterproof towels. Easy to take out and wash.

When the brakes failed on my old XJ Cherokee I rear-ended a van at low speed and my Border Collie hit the windshield. He was fine, as it turns out, but lemme tell ya, seeing one’s best friend break the windshield glass with his head changes one’s outlook. He never rode with me again, nor did the next BC, without being buckled in. The back seat alone isn’t enough. Stuff goes everywhere in an accident, and your dog would end up anywhere.

For seat covers, I’m partial to Escape Gear out of South Africa. Their canvas covers are durable and the cotton breathes well. Paul May of Equipt is the US distributor.

DUUUH, Why pay for nice leather seats & never get enjoyment from them cause they have covers on them? Use the seats till they get dirty & worn, then renew them with seat covers. Same with bed liners, enjoy the new nice looking bed, then after it gets dented, scratched, & looking rough, then install the bed liner. Just my opinion.

I have been able to keep my leather seats looking like new by simply keeping them properly oil with leather conditioner. Leather needs maintenance just like mechanical stuff needs maintenance.

much easier to keep the seats clean when all they want is to sit on your lap

    CHEVERLY my service dog! Lol
Unfortunately even in the back seat, they can become projectiles if not secured. With my service dog, I take her with me everywhere. After a few close calls I bought and recommend some kind of serious harness and locking system just as you would a child. Now if I’m just doing 10 mph on a dirt road, sure she sits up front.
