Hi, I was wondering if I can get your word advice on specs flowmaster type. However I was thinking of getting american thunder flowmaster. If you you have american thunder and how long you had it, does it still have the same sound? Secondly what flowmaster you got?

My truck has a Flowmaster 40 Series, it was very inexpensive. It's definitely louder than stock with a little deeper tone. I can actually hear the exhaust on the freeway now. I like the sound a lot. It'll never sound like a big block. I moved the exhaust tip to in front of the rear tire as well.

I have the flowmaster super 50 series and love it. Sounds better than stock. I'll see if I can get a recording later today

I’ve got a flowmaster 40 series on mine and I love it. It only cost me like 75 bucks installed I think.

I just drove a 2009 for a couple weeks that had the dual outlet catback system. Really loved the sound and it didn't Drone in the cabin like the single outlet Magnaflow does.

I have a flow master 40 downturn. Loved the sounds of it when I was younger, but now I can’t stand it... my wife and I take my truck for road trips during the winter months and it get so loud that we can’t have a conversation at highway speeds without raising our voices.

although, it’s still amusing to set off car alarms w/o trying in parking structures

Those turn downs are about the loudest things out there. Not what you want if your looking to have a conversation but great for the youngster who wants to make their presence known.

Yours sounds good too man... but I have to admit I like jungleman's demonstration more..
I am all stock but plan to change that all new from where the manifolds bolt to the heads all the way out the back. Just need to figure out which headers I want, (so many damn options), and then the mufflers I want, which hearing these and many others is helping my decision so thank you guys for your contributions and thanks OP for starting this thread. Luckily I have a friend that owns a muffler shop and he will let me use his bender and I can weld it all up. Just have to get off my ass.

    no problem.

i have an AFE CAI on there. ive got tooters intake spacer, and an LCE header i havent put on. LCE is usually the way to go. i have the 4 banger, so my options are limited haha

    Levalexi's vid sounds like a 50 series.
Even makes the 4cyl sound awesome. Love it!

I had an afe first, it was the open top one. It sounded like it was trying to claw its way out from under the hood when I got on it. Very obnoxiously loud. I liked it but I went to a 1st gen trd intake and liked that much better.

Ive had the gen2 trd intake (smog legal) on there for a while now and love that combo with the exhaust.

The stock airbox is ok, the trd gives it a little deeper tone and more throttle response imo intake makes a difference too no matter which exhaust you decide on.

it is a 50 series. i think i got the recommendation from tooters thread. as weird as it might sound, i think the truck breathes better with the muffler. with just the afe it kinda got bogged down, but after the new muffler, it feels like it opened up a bit more.

my 8yo nephew said my truck sounds like a racetruck the other day haha.
