I just got a used 2001 Toyota Tacoma xtracab and I wanted to know what I can get to play the best music. I'm gonna need a new front speakers, in dash stereo, subs if they can fit(maybe behind the back seats?) and an amp. I'm looking for something that can play good sounding radio music but that when on full blast will make the car shake!! Or not even be able to get to full blast! The price range here will be around 500 for all of it but please don't recommend something weak and that will only last a year. Also I don't want to have to mod anything or cut out something. I am looking for rather easy installation. And one more thing...what do you all think about truck nutz?

ok well i have had most subs in my 04 xtra cab i had 2 10" kickers with kicker dx250.1 mono block amp, worked good but its not boomy so i went to 2 12" kicker comps in a sealed box with same amp worked perfect for my liking. i sold those because my acquaintance was looking for a set up so i sold those for 300 which is overpriced i believe but fair because amp warrenty, and then i bought a rockford fosgate p2 15" sub with a rockford fosgate pro 2 amp, an older one, and this thing pounds even when the bass knob is at the lowest setting, as for all my other speakers. They are the stock speakers and i like the sound they put out so until they break they are staying. And i have a cheap sony deck its a single din but eventually want to get a double din because i have the room haha

4 5x7 alpine type R's in the doors little trimming to fit the front ones, kenwood double din and a 400 watt kenwood amp. the bass sounds good not really dumping but bumping haha, but the treble sounds so crisp. and i cant see any of it :)

I don't see how you are going to do it for $500. New head unit and 4 speakers just cost me $300. You still need a 5 channel amp ($250 - ?) and a sub ($100 - ?).

I have an older 4 channel amp that I could have put it but I didn't feel like running cables and pulling a seat to mount it. It going on CL today.
