    So I got the K&N 63 Cai and I am surprised, it really changed the sound of the engine, sounds pretty cool but it does get a bit too drony after 4000 rpms WOT..

    Any way to lower the drone just a tad or anyone have experience comparing it to a different CAI?

    I see the S&B one has a cover on top, I wonder if that helps?

    The OE CAI has the best sound of all of them.

    this and that...
    if you want to tone it down, dont get the s&b. the sound is super aggressive. even if youre just cruising you can hear the intake purring. i had the trd and even that is pretty loud when you get on it, but s&b is more throaty than that. think you gotta look for a drop in filter if you want that passive sound.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    I replaced my OEM CAI with an aftermarket CAI, now I don't like the sound. What should I do?

    Go back to the OEM CAI.

    Sorry to be Cap'n Obvious...............

    Ah gotcha, I figured S/B would be a bit quieter due to the covered box. Might have to look into the TRD one, the loudness itself doesn't bother me much but the droning.

    I hear it's toned down compared to the K/N and S&B.

    Exactly :D

    I mentioned the droning, not the sound. Luckily for me I have multiple CAI options to look into hence the post.

    Going back to stock without proper research is just the lazy way;)

    Proper would have been to do the research 1st.

    Sound - Drone = 0. No difference. Drone is a sound tone that is uncomfortable.

    Good Luck with your search.
