Specifically how does this work with the factory JBL system that you say you have? Because the encore amp is only a 4 channel, and the JBL system uses an 8 channel amp...

Also is much louder and the Sub now has a nice punch!

So it didn't change the amplification of the system, it just re-eq-ed the system

Can't watch a video from where I'm at in the voting line, but can tell you that from the diagram you posted originally, if you're in the dash on a JBL system, you're in the wrong spot to fuss with the amp.

Does it work as a pre-amp?

That tiny little box must be Magical!!!

Class AB amp ? lots of wasted energy there, but only a 15 amp fuse.
A 15 amp fuse, so probably only draws 7-10 amps max, so 84 to 120 watts max consumed, - %25 because class AB efficiency loss, so between 59 - 90 watts total signal output, divided by 4 channels = 14 to 22.5 watts max out to each speaker at 1kHz only (which contradicts the spec sheet) of 15-80kHz ? (15,000Hz to 80,000Hz) ?
Humans can only hear up to around 20,000Hz and that's if you have excellent hearing.
Last, only 18 ounces total weight?

My guess, the gain control makes it reach max out with lower volume number displayed on the Head Unit.
    Must be Magic...
    or its Friday again?

I like that as it looks pretty simple. This might be a perfect gift for a few members of the family who have a 23 Pro and Trail edition. Just not enough power by the specs for me though. I paid a little more for a Rockford amp to go behind the stereo. Prior I had the shop install a Rockford amp/sub combo which fits behind the rear pass seat perfect and looks OEM. Added a set of Rockford tweeter/speakers in the dash and for a little less than $1000 I have a darn good sounding system that didn't break the bank. Its super clear with some nice hard hitting clear bass. My friend's stereo shop was extremely impressed and don't sell out those factory door speakers beause once they get some power they really do sound awesome. If I want to get a little more out of it later maybe a set of speakers but for now I'm over the top.

To the OP - Thanks for posting! I'm surprised I haven't heard of this product sooner in my search for solutions/improvements to the factory JBL system.

Aside from the ridiculously priced "OEM Audio Plus" aftermarket system, I haven't found anything else that's plug and play for JBL equipped trucks.

I read through the reviews on the Beat-Sonic website, and it almost sounds too good to be true. Adding this to my Christmas list :) ...And, after I give this a proper test, I'l probably end up adding a plug and play speaker bundle from Trail Grid Pro.

This thread reminds me how glad my truck didn't come with the JBL and complications of upgrading it. Wife just got a new Gx and the Mark Levinson is very unimpressive and it's going to be more challenging to upgrade than the Tacoma's.

Yep, if there was an option to get my truck with leather and advanced tech package (360 cameras) but without JBL, I would absolutely pass on the JBL. It's created nothing but challenges when trying to plan out an upgraded sound system and retain full functionality of my factory media/nav screen and dash gauges and menus. I would have fully removed and replaced the JBL system on day one, if I had the money.

Also, most of the posts on this forum only talk about upgrading the base sound system, so it's difficult to get straight answers.
This Beat-Sonic product is very interesting because it's one of the only "amps" that's plug and play with the JBL system.

Also, give your GX system some break-in time. I've read the Mark Levinson, specifically in the new GX, sounds noticeably better once broken-in.

My wife's 2022 GX460 has Mark Levinson, and I find it to be pretty good (for a factory system) with the right audio source/quality. It's easily 2x-3x cleaner and more crisp with deeper, more impactful bass than my JBL equipped Tacoma when listening to higher quality audio content. Even at low volumes, the GX460 ML system has clarity that the Tacoma can't come close to reproducing.

I installed a BeatSonic amp in my 2024 Pro. Super simple install that anybody can do. Huge improvement in sound. Well worth $300!!!!

We've had it a month and it's not getting any better. It lacks power, volume, highs and lows. Overall it sounds flat and tinny. I've read the 2nd gen's ML actually lives up to its name.

My Tacoma with about $600 invested has more clarity. I'm not even using top tier amps or speakers.

~ My 8" underseat Powered Sub, wired behind the deck to the useless rear speakers wires. Perfect since the amp requires low wattage inputs.

~ Plug & play tweeters improves the soundstage dramatically.

~ Only thing I would do differently is, now they sell a 10" Powered Sub. Black Friday is coming......

I reached out to Beat Sonic to ask about the rms output of this amp. They said it puts out 23W at 14.4V per channel.

That's about what I figured. And that's at 14.4 volts? I think my truck shows around 13.5 / 13.6 volts when running.
The fun part (to me) is where some claim to be using that amp and are So Impressed with it...

Coincidentally, I reached out to Beat-Sonic (yesterday) to ask the same question about RMS wattage.
I'm no electrician or audio engineer... but is there some way the Beat Sonic Encore amp is adding wattage/power on top of the JBL amp's wattage to generate more than the 23W? I don't understand how that works.

I'm skeptical and surprised by how many users say it makes a very noticeable difference (especially with JBL equipped Toyotas). With that being said, I'm still planning on buying an Encore amp anyways :) because the other options for JBL trucks are quite expensive.
