The tether latches are on the back wall. They're used for forward facing seats along with the latches between the seats.

The Hard Data: Contains dual 10W1v2-4 subwoofers in a sealed enclosure. 600 watt power handling. Wired for 2 ohm mono. Installs behind passenger-side rear seat. Black steel mesh woofer grilles are included. Requires permanent modifications to the plastic trim panels behind the rear seat. Ability to use passenger side and center childseat anchors is lost with installation.

Fro the money, Triton 10 sealed or ported tuned 33hz. If you already have an amp it would require a 2 ohm load rating of 400-800wrms

Do you happen to know what the other latches are for?

The ones between the seats? They're also for car seats, but for rear facing seats that's all they need. Once the child reaches a certain age(law varies by state)they use a front facing seat which requires the tether strap(behind the seats on the cab wall).

Ohhh okay. That makes sense. I've always seen the seat belts used for the front facing children. Learn something new everyday!

I have always used the latch seat hooks as well as the tether ones for forward facing seats. If you don't secure the bottom, the seat moves side to side too much not restraining the child seat.
As for the question on the rear ones, they are only for forward facing.
I just "tossed" this into my DC a few weeks ago. I liked that I didn't have to remove the tether hooks on the back wall as I have seen with other sub boxes.

    Right, for forward facing they're required(all 3).

My box is similar to that one with the notch where the tether latch goes. The problem is getting to them afterwards and depending on how long the strap is from the hook to the adjuster determines if it's going to work or not. My adjuster for the strap ended up directly behind the upper part of the box which prevented the box from hugging the wall enough to close the seats. It's always something..,,
