Probably asking for trouble here by using the word cheap.

Recently put on some 265/75/16’s. Don’t plan to rotate the spare but do want to have a matching size and save some coin.

Any recommendations on a cheap brand that’s just tough enough for one time abuse if needed?

Most tire shops sell used tires. All terrains are easy to find in that size and cheap. I’ve picked up a couple for spares for $35 each at my local tire shop

Just buy an extra. Not like you won’t use it. What’s 160 on a 30k truck... lol

Oh there will be some mods all right
What he said. Check craigslist and Facebook marketplace and local tire shops. If you only want new, go to the normal tire shopping websites and sort by price. Sometimes tires where there's less than four in stock and/or an old model go for pretty cheap

Didn’t even think about used but it does make a bunch of sense.
