looking to buy a Taco this fall. I am leaning toward a I4, DC, PreRunner. Has anyone in Massachusetts had any luck with a dealership? Or do most just go online and get the best deal there? Whats the most common Taco in stock at Mass dealerships?

Also, in the NE winters, am I stupid for not going for the V6, 4x4?

Any help for this newb would be greatly appreciated.

Stay as far away from Boch Toyota as humanly possible. I can't say enough bad things about them.

I have the v6, but it seems most the 4 cylinder guys don't really have any problems. 4x4 in the winter however, I know I love it and would hate to drive a truck without it when things get nasty.

I had a good experience at Tufankjian in Braintree, right off Route 3.

I have 4x4 and am glad I do in the winter.

    Love Copeland in Brockton.

4 banger 2 wheel drive, 2 winters in and never had any issues.

Thanks! I cant stand Ernie Boch so I am with Ezrider on that. Here is another question.

I am looking to get roof racks ( I surf). Should I go factory or is there an outside vendor that anyone can recommend for racks.

I bought mine at Wellesley Toyota. Their price was fair and they were a pleasure to deal with. I will always drive a 4x4 vehicle while living in New England.

I have a stand up paddle board and bought this for it:
    http://www.sears.com/t-motorsports-tms-t-ns-hitch-bed-extender/p-SPM6701480608

Not sure how long your surfboard is. My SUP is 11 feet. I never liked the look of the roof racks on the Tacoma (no offense to anyone else) and found this to be an awesome and removable solution.

As long as you do your research, you should be able to walk out of any stealership with a good deal.

Go see my uncle at Acton Toyota. Obviously I get a different treatment, but it seems most of their customers are pleased with the service. 2wd is manageable in the winter if you throw a bunch of weight in the bed, but the thing about 4wd is you almost never lose that money since the resell is so improved with 4x4. My last truck was the 4 cyl and it actually has plenty of power. 2.7L is a big 4cyl. You won't win any drag races, but it's a great motor for a little truck.

jaffarian toyota got me my '14 in black reg cab (had to special order it because there weren't any around a 300 mile radius) and they gave me the best price too. They were great to deal with...this was my second truck i bought from them.

I bought from Copeland and didn't have a problem with their sales department outside of an annoying miscommunication when their finance guy (when my truck would be ready...sales guy said come on in and finance guy said why are you here).

I was really unimpressed with their finance guy as far as doing a hard sell on the warranty and add-ons. He wasted my time so much because he wouldn't take a hint and stop that line of thought. I had a specific time on the day I picked up the truck that I would be able to grab it as I was leaving for vacation that day. It was the biggest headache. Again, no fault of the sales department.

My service experience has been up and down. I'm fairly confident I'm a relatively difficult customer (asking to upgrade to different oils "Is that what it says on the oil cap?", hearing specific noises and not accepting their explanations that things are "operating as designed" etc).

That being said I wouldn't go to a different dealer because I've had a decent enough experience otherwise.

When my Mom has bought me accessories for Christmas / my birthday (yeah yeah) she's bought at Rt 44 Toyota as with their coupons they seem to have decent pricing (for items that shipping would be ridiculous) and they will match the local dealers.

I don't know anyone who has dealt with Route 44 sales that have had a decent experience. A friend wasn't allowed to check anything out on the lot without an overbearing escort and my fiancee wanted to test drive a Scion tC when they were first coming out. She asked for an automatic and they said they had one on the lot and when she got there they were only manual. Maybe things have changed.

I had Boch trying to hard sell me a truck which almost got to be funny towards the end.

I'm going in to Woburn Toyota tomorrow morning to have them look at my frame rust. They have online scheduling for service appointments and they are right near I-93 and Route 128/ I-95 in Woburn MA on Washington Street. I will be sure to let you know how they treated me.

So I’d like to revive this thread so maybe I can get some current input. I bought my last ‘16 Tacoma through Herb Chambers Boston with the Costco program. It was a fair deal under invoice. Fast forward to today. They have dropped their Costco alliance and knowing my history with them, 3 cars in 5 years, they told me sticker price Plus $459 fake dealer profit doc fee, take it or leave it. I left it. Herb Chambers Auburn told me the same thing, Sticker plus their fake dealer profit doc fee. I get supply may be somewhat restricted by that’s outrageous. So can anyone relay a positive dealer experience in 2020 and a fair purchase price? Thanks

Not recent but over the past 20 years Copeland Toyota in Brockton has been very honest and fair with us, be it sales or warranty work

I have bought (and traded in) two vehicles at Acton/Littleton Toyota, and they have been good. Felt like I got a good deal, and good truck both times.

Between family and friends I've bought or recommend Copeland over a dozen times since 2000. My sister has been buying from them since 1986. No problems with sales, no problems with service. Good shop to deal with.

Prior to this I owned a 2006 Chevy Colorado. Had months of fighting with the dealers in my area (one who just refused to do the warranty work, another who hosed me on the warranty) and a few months more of fighting corporate only to be told it's normal to blow the top end of the engine at 70K. By comparison any warranty work my wife and I have ever done there it's just give the keys and pick up when they promised initially.
