We dont have any idea what tires or even what trim was used to get the EPA rating. And seeing how so many people get less then advertised, it's safe to assume the stock tires being sold on the vehicles currently, are not that same as what was used on the test truck.

OP: Look into continentals, they have some high mileage, low rolling resistance tires in the stock size. They aren't cheap, though.

Didn't say they weren't cheap just that they yield the best MPGs

Doesn't sound legal to test and then change the components of the truck. I have consistently gotten sticker and better under the right conditions.

So have I. Theres plenty ways to get around changing the tire up after testing. "X couldn't fulfill the contract, couldn't keep up with demand, breach of contract" etc ect. Corporations are shady, and constantly looking at ways to get ahead.

Besides, who at the EPA is really looking all too hard at the black round things. They are more concerned about the emissions and the efficiency of the vehicle. Enthusiasts know more about tires and their capabilities then the EPA does. Otherwise "mud terrian" and oversized tires would not be street legal.

DO NOT USE AT TIRE. just regular passenger vehicle tires, all seasons will be fine. 245/75 R16 is my choice for MPG.

    You LTX M/S preachers... lol

There is such better cheaper options.. The LTX is a great looking tire... But it hides some poor qualities..

I used to preach the LTX, but not after my last set...

For those of you who have the LTX's, just take a tire off and remove the valve stem... The tire folds over with the weight of the rim the sidewall is so week..

You can pinch the sidewall like someone fat cheek and get a roll between your fingers..

As for winter... They are pretty useless, I just tried mine out this fall, I was really disappointed.. I should have took a hint on the wet grass in my back field..

But no.... these are MICHELINS.... The best tire company ever....

That is a crock of shit...

As soon as they took over BFG.... They went down a slippery slope.
