I have a tow behind lift rented for the week. Working on a lake front home and dam the grass is wet till at least noon. Basically, I have to back lift up a decent incline to position lift. Do you think airing down would help? Just trying to leave the least amount of pecker tracks as possible. Thanks

Couldn't hurt. Same as putting it in 4hi. Maybe even 4low

Yea 4x4 will help but be careful with the gas pedal to not let the wheels spins and destroy the grass

    4lo will combat wheel spin.

Low range will make wheel spin more likely. Too much torque at low rpm. The best way to prevent wheel spin is the opposite. If possible, use high range and start in 2nd gear. Works great in ice/snow. But may not be possible in this case.

Wet grass is like ice, we actually called a trail run off once because a truck nearly slid off a cliff.

Honestly any tire that can bite grass will destroy it. So I agree air down, 4 low and go slow.

Most of the time when I see people using lifts and the like on grass, they lay down plywood or similar. Stops sinking in and provides better traction. The hill could be the kink in that plan though

When you find out what really works, let me know. I live at a lake front home also with a grassy knoll for unloading, and loading my boat. Without 4hi, You'll just spin on muddy grass.

Find someone with a 4x4 tractor to back it up. Lifts are heavy and may sink, making it harder to back up.

Lay down a pile of branches where your wheel tracks will be and drive on them.

not sure what model you have, and if 3rd gens have it. My 2nd gen off road has a-trac which applies brakes to any spinning wheel in 4 lo. Its not magic but work well.

I think the 3rd Gen Multi Terrain system is kind of like A-Trac on steroids. Good idea, that might help.

PS: only on OR trim trucks I think.

That sucked. No weight in ass end. Airing down helps but ass end keep sliding out

I have the same poor man's posi in my gen3 sr5. It doesn't work on a hilly grade with wet grass very well. You still spin pulling a boat and trailer. So far 4wd is the only option that works well.

my atrac is 4wd, all 4 wheels get the brakes if spinning, you could call it poor mans 4 wheel posi. It works well plowing uphill in icy conditions for me.
