Looking at moving from my Tacoma to a Tundra in the near future. There are a lot more options for trim levels on the Tundra and so makes it difficult to decide what I really want to pay for on a stock truck versus saving for aftermarket parts. For example, my Tacoma is a TRD sport which had the suspension and wheel upgrade, but I ended up pulling the shocks and wheels off within the first 1,000 miles anyways. So it seems pointless to pay extra $ on parts youre just gonna sell/scrap in favor of aftermarket stuff. On the other hand, I like some of the interior features that only come on higher trim levels such as the touch screen head unit. What is your guys opinion on best trim to shoot for when you're planning to build?

    Buy whatever interior you like.

Not sure how else to answer. Cheapest interior trim you like. Or the best..

    up to you.

What's important is what you prefer. You're going to be the one driving the truck.

Make a list of everything you plan on upgrading. Then, choose whatever trim level keeps you from removing most of what you're going to swap anyways.

I agree. With Toyota you get a bunch of things packaged together. So if I wanted a sunroof for instance, I'd probably end up with a lot of other things I may or may not want. I realize it's going to be relative to each person. Just wondering if there was a sweet spot for someone wanting to do upgrades later. If I wasn't upgrading I'd definitely select a higher trim. It seems like the sr5 has a lot of things but will leave me more cash to add on.

I had a Tacoma TRD Off Road and upgraded my wheels and tires. Just bought a Tundra and I really liked the SR5 TRD Off Road, great wheels, great trim, level kit and tires eventually, won't change much after that
