Howdy Guys, My son has a 2006 Access Cab Tacoma. He is at college and his Tacoma is sitting in our driveway in the meantime. We get it out occasionally to make sure it gets exercised but it can sit for weeks at a time. Any recommendations for a truck cover to keep it somewhat nice while it sits? Thanks......Mark.

Wow, I guess it has been awhile since I bought a car cover, $350 to $750 is pretty absurd imo. For some reason I still think in 1987 dollars on many things lol.

The last car cover that I purchased was literally in 1987, I think from KMart lol. I have fortunately received car covers with 4 different vehicles that I have since purchased (all used from private party and all collectible / pleasure vehicles) so I honestly haven't shopped for one in 32 years.

If it just to keep junk off , heck go buy to cheap king size fitted bed sheets and sew them together and use those. The elastic will keep them in place.

A coat of wax and regular washings will do more to protect the paint than a cover.

Luckily my truck sits in the garage but if I was planning on temporarily storing a vehicle outdoors here in Tx, I would reluctantly spend more on a cover to protect from the hail storms that seems fairly common. From past experiences, you get what you pay for. IMO, most cheap covers don't last a year so you may end up buying a few cheap ones which will end up close to the final cost spent on a quality custom fitted cover with a good warranty.
