Im getting ready to order my Toytec Lift.
Pretty much decided to go with a set of UCA's as well.
From what Ive read, Total chaos is the way to go.
My worry is the exposed upper ball joint on them. It looks like a perfect place for water and road salt to sit and eat away.
How long should I expect a set to last? I rarely go off road,..mostly highway / city driving.

I see Camburgs have a Cap thats available to cover the top, but have read on here to avoid Camburgs.

Sounds like you want ball joint and not uniball.

Uniball UCA's that offer a cap are usually crap. Those caps that they offer are a poor excuse in attempts to half ass seal the system. Moisture still manages to get in there regardless, leading to rust and even earlier degradation of the uniballs quality. If you choose to run uniballs, stay away from capping them.

Ahreed. If he wants to go Camburg, they do offer a balljoint style UCA which is substantially cheaper priced than their uniball version.

OP, look at light racing UCAs. They're the most cost effective uppers I know of. Also, they're adjustable for ease of alignment.

    No mods whatsoever!
Nothing wrong with Camburg non uniball. If you buy them directly from Camburg, they come with the caps. I read that all uniball uca's squeak?

I have the Camburg Ball Joint type UCA's and love em. But I can get sweet deals on Brand New sets of LR UCA's with the new zerks in them to be able to grease them.

If you are not into maintaining your truck, and are more of the install it, set it, and forget it kind, they will squeak because they require a higher level of maintenance than balljoint's. They aren't horrible for maintenance, but you do have to wash them and spray lube them with teflon every here and there to keep them from squeaking.

If they start squeaking though, they sound like crap as you go over bumps. Lol.
