I got the 3M paint protection. I would recommend it. It's virtually invisible and has been holding up well. Go to a reputable business that does a lot of installations. It takes a lot of skill & experience to get professional results. It is pricey but money well spent.

You won't find the "best" wax product at an autozone or Walmart.

Wolfgang, as mentioned earlier, is far more superior than anything from Meguire's, Mothers, Turtle Wax etc. If you want something cheap and easy, then autozone will suit you well, but don't expect to find the "best" products there.

Autogeek is a good place to start if you want to learn about what else is out there.

"Best" is subjective to a large degree. Lots of factors to consider. But yeah, I've heard great things about Wolfgang, too! Lots of fans out there. I love the Autogeek forum for reviews.

From many years of detailing vehicles, Zaino Brothers makes the best polish I've ever used. It brings out colors and a gloss which is unbeatable. First wash your truck with Joy dish soap. The detergents help remove old wax. Then, clay bar the entire vehicle to remove all oxidization and rust spots. Mix up Z2 pro with the ZFX accelerator. One ounce is enough to apply several coats to your truck.

Here is the polish and activator needed for polishing your truck. I mix a half a bottle and keep applying coats until it's gone.

After detailing cars for over 10 years now dealing with black or dark paint jobs hands down best wax for dark color paints is zymol Carbon. Mud water dust everything will just come off with a quick rinse

IMO the best easily available "wax" is meguiars ultimate liquid, or NXT. I use the ultimate. Ive basically seen that any polymer will last 6 months, i say 2 for good protection. Some will say its technically not a wax, but to the majority we use it as a wax. Yes, top it with carnuba if you want extra shine. It beads for a long time, which is nice with a black truck, which you'll be washing often. At least, until you dont care anymore about the new wash look.

FYI - I've learned on Meguires online forum that NXT has a very light cleaning component, while the Ultimate Liquid does not. Ultimate liquid has better longevity than NXT.

Megs #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 is the pro version of NXT. The difference is that #21 can also be applied with rotary, NXT can not (more lubricant in 21). In theory, they should look the same after applied.

I've used both 21 and ULW (but not NXT) and I couldn't really tell a difference between the two. I now just use ULW because they say it's the longest lasting. I guess if I wanted a light clean, I'd go back to 21 or NXT.

Actually, the cleaning capability of #21 and NXT is so slight that Meguires doesn't categorize them as a cleaner wax. But In post #5, Mr. Phillips does refer to "the cleaners". See posts #2 and #5 here:
    http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?32268-20-VS-21-Which-has-stronger-cleaners

Mr. Stoops says there are no cleaners- see post #23 here: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forum...sealant-vs-meguiars-ultimate-liquid-wax/page3

Anyway, in all my research I've found that 21/NXT have a cleaning component, albeit an extremely mild one (i.e. Get something else if you're wanting to "clean"). They refer to them as "finishing polishes".

ULW has no cleaning component to it whatsoever- that we are certain about. I wouldn't apply ULW without claying first.
