All sorts of levelers, lifts, coil overs etc. out there. What is the best way to get 2-3 inches. I’m thinking 3 in the front 2 in the back.

First I’m wondering what products people have used (part numbers?)

Secondly, who did you trust to install it?

I’m very hesitant when it comes to messing around with the suspension but I would love to add a few more inches. Post up what you got!

First: Define what you plan to do with the truck
Second: Define why you want to do this
    Third: Research lift options
    Fourth: Buy
Fifth: Learn to install yourself. Most lifts are very easy to do with minimal tools and learning how to do it saves $$ and gives you the satisfaction of learning and doing it yourself.

    1. Minimal off-roading - nothing crazy
    2. Mainly for look, also for peace of mind that I won’t rub at all
    3. Have done a bit of research, looking for opinions from people that have installed
    4. -
    5. I may, but am worried because like I said messing with the suspension worries me

Very easy to do. I did my whole lift in a few hours with basic tools. Don't let it worry you. If fun as well do do it yourself.

If its mostly for looks, then get blocks. I HATE block lifts, but you are not going to do much off roading, and its mostly for looks, then I would not worry about a high priced suspension lift.

Installing suspension stuff is really easy, tbh. I'm not mechanically inclined at all and I can manage it. Pretty much all just bolt on.

You'll save several hundred dollars in labor

Do you have to then get an alignment done after you install said lift?

May I please ask what lift solution you used and links to the parts? Like use a really big crayon and draw this out for me as I know nada about lifting a truck. Is it just replacing the shocks all the way around?

LOL, yes, its pretty much replacing the shocks and leaf pack (or using an add a leaf)

Front shocks are 6112 set to 4/5 clip settings. Rear is 5160 shocks with Head strong off road 3 leaf add a leaf. I'll leave off links so you can do some research of your own. ;)

I thought by the subject of your question this thread was going to be different. Came here for the comments but was disappointed to read all lift related comments...

No problem. I live this set up. It's right between pricey coilovers and OME type set up. I don't have a lot of weight in the rear yet, so the add a leaf is great. A full leaf pack will be needed once a consistent amount of weight is in the rear at which point I'll switch to the OME full leaf pack.

what about extending the lower shank on my stock billys, and blocks in the rear?
I do no off roading other than an odd dirt road, but like the looks.
wouldn't that keep my stock ride?

Adjusting your shocks will roughen the ride. Some can deal with it, some can’t. Most people on this site will recommend using proper length coils to achieve lift, not preloading coils by adjusting the shocks.

Everyone is different and “harshness” is relative, so stick with what makes you happy!

Unbolting isn't too much of a problem for me, its bolting it all back together. How do you know whats tight enough? Just wrench it till it stops? What about keeping things generally aligned? Obviously you should go get it realigned afterwards, but how bad is it after you reassemble? I've done springs on my old gti before, but that was on a lift and I only remember there being a lower control arm and strut.
