Yes! That’s exactly what I experienced as well. Plus in just fine but the unplugging action i feel the wiggle. Do you still use that port or did you change it ? I think I’m gonna keep it with my install and just maybe use it for a usb extension to plug in a usb drive or something that I won’t use frequently. Thankfullly I’m going with a wireless apple car play unit so hopefully will not have to plug into the unit much. I’m going to install a combo usb/hdmi plug in the cigarette adapter space under climate controls just to have a CarPlay in and hdmi in for viewing. Still in the planning phase as install to occur this upcoming weekend!!

Definitely kept it. I have a 6” lightning cable, so my phone sits right in the cubby down there. Never have to unplug the cable so it works for my needs just fine.

So here it is. Fits and works just fine. I didn’t need to use any of the adapter plates that came with it.

    Hey guys/gals.

Just got a new head unit and looking to get a dual usb in the factory blank. We have different things available on our Canadian Amazon so it looks like I'll be rolling the dice on this https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B074SL4B1Z/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3MDC9KUHU6B27&th=1

My main question: how does one access the back of that panel? Is it easy to route 2 usb cables to the back of the headunit. I hear the HVAC opening isn't that big.

    Thanks
