Just looking for opinions. For all of you who have installed ditch lights, light bars etc how did you run the wire through the firewall to a switch in the cabin? Did you use any kind of fish tape?

I cut a hole in the boot. You can seal it but if you plan on running more wires in the future just leave it be. It’s not really an issue. Just make a small incision and squeeze the wires through with a coat hanger. It stretches.

There's a rubber grommet/hole on the driver side where some wires were already fished thru, i just took a metal hanger and made the hole a little bigger and used that as a pipeline for other wires, careful not to damage any of the other wiring

No need to cut, bend a coat hanger straight and tape it to that. Push through about two inches and then pull from cabin side.

I didn’t use a coat hanger, its a short run. Guess it depends on the gauge of wire. I sprayed everything with windex and pushed it through the grommet, pulled it from the other side.
