Ya that should be plenty in your case. For us here, the salt sits due to the temp being below freezing for so long, then gets activated once it warms ,etc. I would think the few times you take a trip just running some water under there or parking over a sprinkler and garden hose should do it. I used to be OCD about my truck, chips, scratches, rust spots on frame, you'll drive yourself insane its a never ending battle, just enjoy it and take some care of it. Hell I know people who don't wash their vehicles but maybe 3 times a year.

Advice I was given on here awhile back when touching up spots on my truck.

Not at all! Bad joke amongst friends. You can eat off any part of the interior of my truck. I patch and paint rust every year whether it needs it or not.

You asked how to fix your patch, the first answer you got in post 2 was dead to nuts the answer. You can mask or block for overspray.

I apologize if I came off derogatorily, was far from my attention.
    I’ll remove the confusing post.

The occasional trip to tourmaline isn’t gonna fuck up your truck. It’s the trucks that live outside within the marine layer reach that get rusty

A wave storm is literally a pussy magnet. Chicks will stick to tourma a few times, find out that salt water is "icky" for their hair and that will be that. Rinse and repeat, plus tourmaline is free game to snake and mow over whoever you please lol

Rustoleum is ok, any fish oil paint will do the trick. If you really want to protect it, steel-it with stainless steel paint, expensive but works.

POR15 is a niche product with crap results over essentially clean metal. Especially in a patch the size of a half dollar. It’s best use is in its name, paint over rust.

Your basically putting a strip of super glue-like material on your frame that will peel right off at some point down the road. It doesn’t bond well to pre-existing paint either in the long term, so if you overlap a coat onto the factory frame paint, there is definitely a good chance it will start to peel from there.

I’ve used it for different projects and a tiny chip off the frame isn’t reason for POR. People also don’t typically follow the prep instructions at all and end up with poor longevity of the product.

Not to mention if OP isn’t aware, he’ll be buying a $15 can/kit only to use nowhere close to even an ounce of product and have to throw the rest away.

It has its uses but this is not it.
