best way to remove AVS in channel rain guard, front window

well i had ordered 2 sets of these for my 2015, they both came skuffed and scratched due to no protection between them,,, so i thought id try it again for my 2017,, well got them they looked ok,, i just installed the 4th one and noticed it was cracked on the bottom, now it is installed,, got another set coming , no charge, but i have to remove the cracked one, replace it with one from the new set, put the cracked one in the new set and send them back,, no charge,, but really,, what a pain in the ass,,, they must get alot of these retured because they are skuffed and scratched,, just put something between them...

 

Removal is opposite of install.

Next time buy WeatherTech.

 

so the 3m tape comes off easily,, prolly should have got weather tech, they were twice the cost,, weather tech looked like stick way out..

 

Try some dental floss or monofilament fishing line....work it in the edge and use a back & forth flossing motion as you move it slowly along the shade...it'll come right out.

There was very little adhesive residue left when I removed mine using this method.

I just did this with all 4 AVS that had been installed for 6yrs. One had been damaged and the replacement was a new style, so I replaced all four. Took less than 15 minutes for all 4.

 

Precisely why I went with AVS.

Just push in towards the truck and pull down.

 

If it's an in channel visor as your title states, the tape is just a vibration stabilizer. It will come right out.
