I recently bought a used 2021 Tacoma, and I've noticed some damage on the powder coat of the metal bar located at the edge of the truck bed, just below the window. Can anyone recommend the most effective way to repair this? Attached is an image showing the damage.

it's probably easiest to replace that bar than it is to do any treatment of the spot. you'll spend just as much on materials to perform the re-paint as you will on the replacement part.

i'm in the same boat. i believe they dripped chemicals on mine during the third brake light water intrustion recall service, as the coating is peeling directly under the brake light, and it wasn't before that last year. but of course, trying to fight a toyota dealer to replace a part on a 6 year old truck a full year after they performed the service is likely going to be far more hassle than it's worth.
