Thanks for the reply, Curt. I wish that’s all it was, but unfortunately I’ve already been down that road, and it didn't cure the symptoms. the 4th post on this thread lists the same symptoms, with a clogged filter and/or expansion valve being the issue. That's why I am now going down this road. The dealer thinks it's a door in the heater box, but I'm skeptical...

    Cheers,

    Chris

    This ^^^^^

I had the same symptoms about a year and a half ago Cold on the left vent and warmer as you go right. Checked the charge and it was low, Had it pulled down and recharged with added dye. Waiting for the symptom to recur to check for a leak...

I would be too. There is no door in the AC Unit that would cause a cold on the left vent warm on the right vent condition.

Did they say which door it was Mode, Blend, or Source ( recirc / fresh ).

Thanks, Jimmy. The dealer did in fact charge the system and put in a dye overnight. In the morning, the pressure had dropped a bit, and they found a ‘slow’ leak under the dash (worst case). This would normally have been a no-brainer for me, BUT, they said that even with a full charge, the right side was still blowing warm. I would expect that with a full charge, the system would operate normally until the pressure has bled down. This is why I suspect two issues: a leak, but also something else causing the restriction of fluid.

What was your experience? When you topped up the charge, was everything working normally until the pressure bled down?

    Cheers,

    Chris

P.S. They didn’t specify which door - just ‘a heater door’. But his is coming from the advisor, not the tech, so not sure how much was lost in translation.

When it was PROPERLY charged everything was cool and normal, it still is actually a year and a half later. Then again it took about 4 years for it to leak down the first time and only time so far...

You may consider going to a good AC Shop before you start tearing things apart. I would.

Good advice, thanks. I'll check the pressure, and if it's still not good, get a good charge. If I'm still having issues, my next step will be to pull the inline filter. If it's all gummed up and full of metal, I suspect there's a good chance there's a blockage causing a flow restriction.

    Thanks for all the advice!
