TBH, I don't know the reference, but I did a tiny bit more digging (before losing interest) and found that he lost his shit when a dealership wouldn't give a phone quote for painting the heep's hardtop. C'mon now. Nobody is going to do that.

I hope the kid can find some peace. And financial stability. Neither of which will come with purchasing a new car and falling further down the debt trap.

Ignoring all the yelling in the thread, here's the best answer to this particular situation.

The best way to find the truck you want is to first determine how far you will travel to get the truck you want. Whether that's driving, fly and buy, whatever. Once you've got that figured you reach out to any and all dealerships in range and ask if they have any available allotments that fit what you want.

Salesmen are useless and will always say "you'll be the first to know" but it's BS. Also, you can't look at other dealerships and think the one you talked to is doing you dirty because they don't get to order trucks. Toyota tells them "You are getting X number of tacomas in Y colors/trims" and the dealership then has a window to select port installed options for those. If the dealership you talked to didn't have an incoming truck in the color or trim you wanted but the dealership 2 towns over did, then that isn't in their control.

The allotment system is why your best bet is going to be to contact multiple dealerships and specifically ask if they have any incoming free allotments that fit your wants/needs.

    Yeah.
This is actually a good answer, bravo.

But really, WITAF is going on in here? OP just wants to know how to obtain a Pro right fucking now.

You can't. They are all spoken for. Move on. Please.

it only gets better for the OP. Took me all of 2 minutes to search inventory in the Dallas area, find one and get this response from a dealer.

    mind the gap. haha

    the other dealer said

"That is correct. We have the Trail hunter available as well as a TRD Pro. Both are in transit from the factory. With these being rare, they get spoken for before they arrive. What time can you come in today to discuss figures?"

sure is hard finding available ones.

I think half of these dipshit question threads are moderators trying to stoke activity.

And then the other half are genuine dipshits wondering out loud if the catalytic converter is easy to steal or how reliable a new Toyota might be.

I keep coming in here looking for real info and mostly just find comedy

this isnt totally accurate because the online reps dont care to validate before getting back to you,

i bet 60% of the time after you get that email and try to pursue::
“Actually my sales manager just got back to me and those ARE are already spoken for, why don’t you come in anyway and give us your info so we can find another one like it for you!”

    SO ANNOYING

I'm still hung up on needing a truck to drive into Dallas.

Nobody who wishes not to destroy their vehicle or themselves drives into Dallas. The big brains keep their truck at home and ride the commuter train into that war zone.
