What's the best wheel width for a 12.5"wide tire? I want the tire to stick out past the wheel enough to protect the wheel, but not stick out so much to look funny.

People run 35"x12.5"x17" tires on a 8" wide rim

On the tire manufactuers website, it will list the approved rim widths for each size tire.

+1. A 10" would be the best match but a 9" would look really good too. Anything narrower than an 8" or wider than a 10" will look silly.

i run a 15 x 8 with 33x12.50 looks good and get a good wear pattern just check the manufactures specs

7 is to little 10 is when the tire stops sticking out enough to protect the rim.:D 8 is known as poor mans beadlocks because the tire is stuffed into it so much i probably wont come off easily at low psi. It is possible to stuff it into a 7 incher but not many tire shops will do it.

I have mine mounted on 8" but 9 would look nicer IMO.
