i swear, the tacoma eats blades. don't know why, but i've trived mulitple brands over the years with the tacoma and none of them last very long. maybe 3 months. gotta be something with the design of the hood/wiper area, which leaves them exposed to the sun. my last car, i went multiple years without changing them, but they also hid up under the back of the hood and avoided the sun???

i dunno...whatever..time for new ones again.

I've been using the Bosch Icons for 6 months now. Still going strong. The only streaking I get is usually from bugs stuck to the windshield. Soon I will see how they last in N.E. winter weather.

Had Rain-X lats for about 1 and a half years. Worked fine for me for the most part, but lately they were wiping my windshield cleanly. I even cleaned the blade with a rag.

Was at Costco last week and they had some Goodyear Assurance blades for only $7.99 each. So far, so good.

I've always used stock blades. it's a lot cheaper just replacing the blades, than replacing the whole arm and blade assembly.

Same here, But had them on for about 10-11 months + Rain X bug cleaning windshield washer fluid... Water just beads off the windshield most of the time but the wipers still work great. Although, The truck only see's sun light maybe 2-3 times a week for a few hours each time (garage queen [and i'm more lively at night])

My truck never sees the inside of a garage ever... so I blow through wipers every 6 months (either due to the brutal UV in summer or freezing/wintry weather in winter).

So I guy the Goodyear ones from Costco. $7 each. They work great for 6 months at a time. I've been running these for 3 years now. They are awesome for the money.

On my former Legacy GT I bought Icons because everyone raved about them on the LegacyGT forum... they last 3 months out here and were pretty much worthless if the temps got to 35 degrees or lower. That was just my experience.

Valeo is my brand of choice. They have been known to last for 2-3 years. Mine are a year old and still like new. I have the contour blades so they never bounce and skip. Mine are also 19" on driver side and 18" on passenger side just for shits and giggles.

Do NOT get the Goodyear, they suck ass, LOL.

So less than 1 week later, my driver side is skipping like a mofo. The upstroke usually does a decent wipe, if it's not skipping. But on the down stroke, it leaves streaks. Now I dont know if this is because of the wiper blades or the Rain-X 2in1 fluids. I just put some of that in at the same time.

I will try those silblades now.

The silblades. There's several variations. Is there a "best" out of them? Reviews on Amazon is pretty shitty.

For the $8 per blade, it was worth the risk. But FFFFUUUU. I hate losing.

Same here, I bought them on a recommendation from a friend (he mostly recommended them for the price). I don't think they've ever had a clean sweep, even brand new...

HMMM. There's another potential gamble. I really hate to bring it up on this site, because it may be gone before I decide.

I read about all the high praises for PIAA, so I went search. I found an online vendor selling some 21". For a LOW price of $8 shipped..... The catch is, this has a "carbon fiber" print and it's old stock. I dont know if silicone hardens up or not. I dont know if I'll like the mismatch of one side being black and 1 side with carbon fiber.

    But it's $8.

    HHHHHMMMMMMMM

PS, Local O Rielly has a sale on Bosch Icon right now. Buy 2, save $10.
