Best Year For Towing and fuel mileage?

Ill be honest.. im a Ford guy, but my ranger isnt going to hull a trailer around or a boat. So im thinking about getting a Tacoma but dont know much about them other than they are good little trucks. any help is Greatly Appreciated. Thanks-Jase

 

Anything 2006+ and make sure it has the tow package with oil and tranny coolers

 

whats wrong with the 2005 and below? do they not have the tow package?

 

Weak motor mounts, anything below is a first gen

 

2005 was the first year of the 2nd generation Tacoma. 2004 and older is the 1st generation and they are a smaller truck.

My 2nd gen tows a lot better than my 1st gen did.
