hey guys, was hoping someone could point me in the right direction with wiring up the third brake light for the supertop. I know i need to tap into the tail light assemble, i just have no idea which wire to tap into. one white and one black wire run from the brake light. Let me know if any of you did this, and if you could give me some insight. thanks!

Jake, usually white is hot and black is ground...how many/what color wires come from the bestop light?

EDIT: Check out this thread and see if it helps.

One white and one black is what comes from the best top brake light. I just not sure what wire from the tail assembly to tap the white one into.

I'm not sure where bestop sources the light from but some companies in China use black and white instead of black and red. When the wires are black and white, black is usually hot and white is usually ground. That being said, the diagram above may still be correct depending on how the truck is wired. I have a wiring diagram but I'm not at home.

So the black wouldn't get grounded to frame, it jut connects to black/white wire on the tail light?

That's my best guess. Either way, the black/white wire on the tail light goes to a ground. I'd splice it in with that wire just to be easier than finding a bolt that is a good ground to the frame.
