The same shit everyone else has.
I purchased a used Bestop Supertop for my truck last year. I ran it all summer and fall with no problem. I remove it over winter then reinstalled it last week....

    I noticed this -

    76F2D4D0-F57A-4863-BEEA-53B2142574B0_zps_a8f7623b7cd9201799f8d6e31b572326b54875f9.jpg

All 4 clamps are like this and where they lay on the metal frame. the frame is deformed and bent down and follows the same plane as the clamp. Im 90% sure they were like this last summer but I never really thought anything of it.

Ive been staring at this since I reinstalled the cap last week and this bothers the shit out of me. I hate that our trucks use the stupid rail system to mount thing.

Does anyone else have this issue with a Supertop or other soft top? Has anyone found a solution for this?

Probably just my eyes, but I can't say I see what you describe. Sorry. FWIW, I have similar clamps holding a fiberglass cap on my truck, and don't see a problem, but, now, I'm not sure I'm even looking at it right.

Yours seemed to be over tightened a bit. Could be my eyes but the bolt looks crooked once it leaves the portion attached to the rails. I've snapped two bolts thinking they needed to be super tight but since then I've backed off.

EDIT: I have a supertop. FYI.

The bolt is bending where it comes out of the attachment point for sure. Ive snapped a few of them trying to back the bolts and re-adjust shit. Any looser and the top move around though.

I think the deformed rails are my issue and I need to pull them off and try to bend them back into shape.

I don't see the rails being deformed? :notsure:
I ran my Bestop frame year around and throw the cover on it whenever I wheel or something.
    I'll snap a pic in a bit.

It's almost like you might have over tightened it whenever you first installed it, thus eventually leading to the side rails being bent to the shape of the OEM plastic caps, thus requiring you to continue to over tighten just to get it snug.

FWIW I run my Bestop with KB voodoo's metal side rail caps that replace the stock OEM plastic ones so I have a flat rail to work with not the sloped plastic one.

Thanks for the input. I think thats what has happened as well. I bet the original owner over tightened them and I never really thought anything of it at the time.

I need to pull the rails off and throw a square on em. Maybe bend them back into shape.

Bent the rails back in shape, replaced the hardware, and reset everything.

    Solved the problem.

Mine look like your original picture, but I didn't want to risk under tightening them. Picture of the fixed result?
