Couple of things I've noticed with my bestop. Yes the zippers can be hard in the cold, only zip each of them half way or so till all panels are on. Makes it much easier. Also, dont attach the rear corners until the panels are on. Its easier to flex the frame a tad to get the corner back on than it is to over stretch the panels to get them in the zippers.

I passed on cutting under the clear panel for the straps and simply unvelcro it when I fold it down. Also allows me to wrap the entire clear panel around the frame and cloth and velcro it back down for a nice tight fit.

Last I had to make cuts in my J-hook channels to since they were bending in the wrong spots and making it even harder to fold down and put the panels back in when up.

Got mine today and started install but it seems that either the bows delivered are to small or that the canvas is to large. Anyone have have a DC with a supertop that could give me some measurements on the bows and the canvas for comparison?
It sags both transversally and longitudinally.

I went through this four times before they sent one that was not defective in some way. Their quality control is nonexistent.

for some sad reason its hit or miss with the bestop I dont know why its ridiculous.

Give the headquarters a call and they'll send out a brand new set up over night and ask them to include extra bed clamps. I asked for two extra with no charge.

Yes it´s a shortbed I have, I was also thinking that maybe its for a longbed, but also its seems to be to wide sideways. i specifically ordered for the 5 ft bed and the order number from the catalogue is correct and matches the documentation i received, so I´m really confused now

Call Tania at Bestop--1-800-845-3567. She has been mucho-helpful to me in the past. Bestop does not sell direct so oftentimes, their products get screwed up or mismarked at their suppliers warehouses--especially discount online-only retailers. This has been a source of frustration for them as she explained to me during our last phone call.

I have bought three Bestop products (one for my Tacoma and two for my Jeeps). I have never had a problem with their customer service so I am sorry if that is your experience. They have always made right a product shipping error, even though I bought from a discount retailer. They also sent me a missing part when I bought a softtop via Craigslist for my 2-door Jeep. Free of charge and no questions asked. Good luck.

EDIT: They do sell direct but not at discount prices all of us like to take advantage of as seen throughout the internet. Just wanted to clarify.

Sent email to both Bestop and the retailer I ordered it from, so hopefully I´ll get it sorted out soon. It was really hot today when I started install about 105 degrees, so for a while I started thinking about thermal expansion :D......but i quickly realized that a wrong delivery was more likely.

    A few bolts are different.
I have about 4 years on mine now and it is still holding strong. The versatility cant be beat. I will be adding some of the pipe insulation soon, the windows are wearing a little from rubbing. Thats a great idea.

Yep, per your pics, that thing is much bigger than should be... looks like it for a full size. It should be very taut at full tension, I don't care how hot it is. Even in South Texas with 100+ degree temperatures all summer, mine is not loose at all and it's been on for several months now. Shipping error definitely.
